The Duke Blue Devils have always been the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-basketball" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">college basketball </a>team everybody loves to hate. Notably, plenty of that has to do with their ability to land the best prospects.



That might be the case again next season. According to a report by Travis Branham of 247Sports, FC Barcelona prospect Sayon Keita will make an unofficial trip to Durham to visit the facilities.



Keita is the top-ranked international recruit for the class of 2027, but he’s reportedly considering making a jump to the 2026 recruiting cycle. He’s a 7-footer from Mali with immense defensive potential.

“Keita is an elite defender that possesses great size, incredible length and is a very fluid mover on the court,” Branham wrote. “He covers immense ground on the defensive end of the court, providing a premier anchor to his team’s defensive efforts.”

Of course, they will face some steep competition to acquire his services, and he should be in no rush to make a decision, as he will have the entire season to choose his next program.



But given Duke’s long history of success at recruiting the best prospects on Earth, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise to see them get their hands on this highly coveted young man.

UConn Huskies sophomore Sarah Strong is set to play her second season in <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-basketball" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">college basketball,</a> fresh off a national championship win in the 2024-25 NCAA season. The forward played 40 games during her first season, averaging 16.4 points, 8.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 2.3 steals and 1.7 blocks per outing with UConn.



During a conversation with NBC Sports Boston reporter Kayla Burton, Strong credited Geno Auriemma as the main reason why she is 100% motivated whenever she’s on the court.



“I have every reason to go out there and be confident myself, knowing my coaches and staff and teammates believe in me,” Strong said. “So it just gives me extra confidence.”

Strong already showed what she’s capable of during her freshman campaign. The Huskies are still a strong team, with one of the greatest coaches in women’s basketball history and a group of players who already know what it takes to win.&nbsp;

NCAA analyst Mark Zanetto believes Sarah Strong is a better option than Azzi Fudd to become the face of the Huskies now that Paige Bueckers is gone. Strong is younger and has a better offensive game, but Zanetto said Fudd’s marketability might win her the race.



“For me, the sort of visual media marketing face of the team is Azzi Fudd,” Baker said. “It doesn’t necessarily mean I think Fudd is the better player, though she’s a tremendously talented player. I think Sarah Strong’s upside, combined with Azzi’s injury history, makes me think that Strong is the player that’s going to maybe accomplish more by the time she finishes at UConn and could perhaps have a stronger resume than Azzi Fudd.”



Once again, the Huskies are the team to beat. If Strong shows off her evolution, the rest of the division will be in trouble&nbsp;

Kiyan Anthony is preparing for his first <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-basketball" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">college basketball</a> season with the Syracuse Orange, the same program his father led to a national championship in 2003. Anthony, 18, is ranked 36th on the ESPN 100 list for the 2025 class.



His parents have supported him every step of the way, but they have also had a good laugh at the expense of the freshman.&nbsp;



It’s common to see both Carmelo and La La Anthony hype up their kid on social media, but there’s a part of it that the player doesn’t really enjoy. Talking with PEOPLE about an episode of Instagram’s “Close Friends Only” podcast, Kiyan Anthony revealed how his parents “embarrass” him.

UConn Huskies star Azzi Fudd is preparing for a 2025-26 NCAA season that could be as successful as the last, in which her team went all the way to the national championship and beat the defending champions, the South Carolina Gamecocks, to send Paige Bueckers to the WNBA with the only accolade she missed during her <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-basketball" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">college basketball</a> career.



Fudd is now the leader of the squad after an increased role in the 2024-25 season. The guard has already collected several NIL deals during her college career, and the good news doesn’t stop coming her way.&nbsp;



She recently signed another deal, this time with the young 3-on-3 competition Unrivaled, created by former Huskies stars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier.&nbsp;



<h2>Azzi Fudd had a bigger role on the Huskies last season&nbsp;</h2>



Before Fudd, the league signed Paige Bueckers and Flau’jae Johnson to NIL deals, although they couldn’t play in the competition until they became professional. Bueckers will likely join the competition in 2026, while Fudd and other prospects could follow through in 2027.

Azzi Fudd had a strong 2024-25 season, in which she played 34 games, twice the number she played in 2022-23 and 2023-24. The Huskies’ star averaged 13.6 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.4 steals per game.&nbsp;



Fudd is expected to be one of the leaders of the squad now that Paige Bueckers is in the WNBA. While some don’t think Fudd is the right choice and favor forward Sarah Strong to be the leader of the team, the guard is set to take over the offense.

Discussing the opportunity to play with his brother in Arizona, Koa Peat didn’t mince words. He expressed his excitement for the challenges ahead.



“It’s pretty cool, we always wanted to go to the same high school. We didn’t go to the same high school or anything, so to be able to go to the same college with my best friend, honestly, is really cool, I’m happy he is here, and I’m happy for him, and hopefully he’ll have a great season,” Peat said, per Sportskeeda.

Duke Blue Devils freshman Cameron Boozer will try to emulate and improve what another high-profile freshman did last year under Jon Scheyer.

But first, he’ll have to play for his father’s alma mater. After a busy offseason, perhaps the Blue Devils aren’t considered as dangerous as they were with Flagg, but Boozer believes people will stop sleeping on his team once the regular season is underway.

Boozer is a five-star forward with high expectations ahead of his freshman campaign. As he prepares for his freshman season, Cameron Boozer has been in the gym, working on his game. 



A video shared by the Blue Devils’ official X account shows the 18-year-old player working on his long-range shots. He wasn’t known for being a shooter in high school and adding a 3-pointer to his offensive arsenal will open up many new doors for him and his team.



Boozer was named Gatorade National Player of the Year twice, which only added to the expectations surrounding him.

Alijah Arenas just can’t catch a break. The son of former All-Star Gilbert Arenas will be looking at a long recovery ahead of him. To be more specific, he’ll be out six to eight months.



Apparently, the young guard, who graduated from high school a year earlier to play for the USC Trojans, suffered a significant knee injury that will require him to undergo surgery.



“Breaking: USC freshman Alijah Arenas has been diagnosed with a knee injury that will require surgery, the school announced,” ESPN broke the news on social media.

“It’s a new generation. Two totally different people even though that might be your kid,” Anthony said. “I felt bad for him cause like, that’s my guy. So, he doesn’t speak a lot, he not gonna go on the internet and say what he’s gotta say. But like, deep down behind closed doors, he probably was going through it.”

“You’re seeing this every day. You’re on social media, you can’t even scroll twice without seeing a post with your name on it, and he probably talked to his pops about it, but at the end of the day, he’s nice that boy,” Anthony continued. “I think he really has a chance to prosper in the NBA.”



At the end of the day, that’s a two-way street. In the same way that people shouldn’t hate him because of his father, they shouldn’t root for him just because of his father, either. He’ll have to earn his stripes just like everybody else.

Just last year, the Los Angeles Lakers made the rounds for their decision to draft Bronny James, making him and his father, LeBron, the first father-son duo to play together in NBA history.



That’s why Andrew Peters of Bleacher Report believes the same could happen to Bryce, who’s about to make his college basketball debut with the Arizona Wildcats:



“The most obvious landing spot for Bryce is his father and brother’s team, the Los Angeles Lakers,” wrote Peters. “The Lakers took Bronny in the second round a year ago and were seemingly adamant about getting him in that spot. Bronny’s agent, Rich Paul reportedly told teams that if they selected Bronny, he would go play in Australia.”

“It’s hard to say whether Los Angeles would once again be that committed to drafting one of LeBron’s sons, but if Bryce is available when it’s the Lakers’ turn to draft, it seems unlikely they would pass on him,” Peters wrote.



The Lakers and James drew strong criticism for how they handled Bronny’s situation, as he clearly wasn’t ready. Whether the same will happen with Bryce remains to be seen.

It’s been years since the Kansas Jaywhawks knew that they were going to get Darryn Peterson. He committed in 9th grade, and he never hesitated to honor that commitment.



So, the Jayhawks and the coaching staff have had more than enough time to evaluate him on and off the court and know what they were going to get next season.



With that in mind, legendary coach Bill Self shared his honest thoughts on his new star recruit, gushing about his talent and how he will accommodate the team around him.

Of course, it takes way more than just talent to make it in this line of business, but Peterson also has an impressive work ethic, and more importantly, he wants to be coached.

Not so long ago, college athletes had to sit out a year when they transferred. They were red-shirt players, and making that tough decision couldn’t be taken lightly.



Now, the players can transfer multiple times after every season, and they will still be eligible to suit up and play the very next year. That has drawn some criticism among purists.



With that in mind, Arkansas Razorbacks coach and <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-basketball" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">college basketball</a> legend John Calipari had an interesting idea. The players should only be eligible to play right away if they transfer under certain circumstances.

Of course, that makes perfect sense. Some people complain about how all the transfers hurt the players’ academic chances, and they also fail to develop the character to thrive in adversity.



Then again, there has never been any sort of transparency in college sports, and there are countless ways to get around the rules, so perhaps this might only complicate things.
