Raymond Felton shared a piece of advice to North Carolina Tar Heels guard Seth Trimble ahead of his senior season. The retired guard watched Trimble firsthand in the offseason when they spent time together at the basketball camp.&nbsp;



Felton, who won the 2005 national championship with the Tar Heels, has been a critic of the backcourt’s performance. Besides offering positive words for former teammate Hubert Davis, who might be on the hot seat this season, he also shared some wisdom with Trimble.&nbsp;



Trimble led the team in steals per game (1.4), ranked third in points (11.6), and second in rebounds (5.0) for a team that posted a 23-14 record (13-7 in the conference) and was eliminated in the first round of the NCAA tournament.&nbsp;

“I went back to the camp this year because my son, you know, was a part of the Carolina camp this year,” Felton explained. “I talked to Seth for a long time. I said, bro, do me a favor. This is all I asked for you,” Felton told Trimble. “I said, I watched y’all practice last year. I watched y’all play last year a lot. And I said, let’s get back to like making people uncomfortable in our building.”



The Tar Heels enter the season with a lot of pressure. Time will tell if they can take a step forward or stay stuck as other top programs continue to evolve on and off the court.&nbsp;

“Even Azzi can say when I first had met her, she thought I was too much for her — [those] were her words,” Arnold said. “Maybe it can come off strong to some people, but like I didn’t really do that much. I was literally just dancing, you know, I was just being me. Like, I felt like really sad. Oh, she upset me. Like I was really upset.”



Fudd said she was upset when Arnold “was doing a lot.” Fortunately, the distance made them grow closer and understand each other better, which led to a solid friendship.&nbsp;



“Towards the end of the year as I read the room, I left her alone. Then I saw the other side of her where she was like smiling at me, which is weird,” Arnold added. “Now it took a whole year for her to warm up. And then the next year we were besties. And now look at us. We’ve come a long way.”



The Huskies have a strong squad for the 2025-26 season, and other than the Gamecocks, it’s hard to see a team challenging them for the championship.&nbsp;

Jon Scheyer and Co. are preparing to face another challenging <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-basketball" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">college basketball</a> season, but they are also keeping tabs on potential new players. Jordan Smith Jr., a guard from Paul VI Catholic High School (Va.), has been on Scheyer’s wishlist for over a year. Smith is ranked as the No. 2 overall player in the country by 247 Sports and the highest-ranked player to have received an offer from Duke this window.&nbsp;



Smith is a sought-after guard with offers from many other programs, such as Arizona State, Arkansas, Florida State, George Mason, Georgetown, Kansas State, Louisville, Michigan, Villanova, and Virginia.&nbsp;



<h2>Jon Scheyer visited a top prospect at home&nbsp;</h2>



He will be active in the next couple of months, with visits to Arkansas scheduled on Sept. 20 and Kentucky on Oct. 11. Scheyer moved faster than that and visited Smith personally as soon as he had the chance.&nbsp;

Matt Giles of Duke Blue Devils on SI writes that Scheyer wanted to build on Jordan Smith Jr.’s visit from November. While he’s planning on visiting campus again, the coach decided to visit Smith at his home on Wednesday, the same day the open recruitment period began.&nbsp;



The Blue Devils had Cooper Flagg for the 2024-25 season and now have Cameron Boozer for the 2025-26 campaign. Scheyer could extend his notable recruiting win streak if Jordan Smith Jr. takes his offer.&nbsp;

The Duke Blue Devils will return to the court in the 2025-26 NCAA season with renewed expectations. After a dramatic collapse against the Houston Cougars in the 2025 NCAA tournament Final Four, Duke lost several players to the NBA, including Cooper Flagg and Kon Knueppel.&nbsp;



With Flagg out of the picture, they recruited another talented forward who is expected to lead the squad to another Final Four and perhaps a championship game. Cameron Boozer, son of Duke’s icon Carlos Boozer, joined the Blue Devils with his twin brother, Cayden, to continue with their family legacy in Durham.&nbsp;



Jon Scheyer couldn’t be more excited about his new star forward, who he thinks shares similarities with another former No. 1 overall pick.&nbsp;

During a conversation with Jon Rothstein on an episode of the “Inside College Basketball” podcast, Scheyer discussed what can be expected from Boozer. He went as far as to say that Boozer shares similarities with Paolo Banchero.&nbsp;

“He’s like Paolo from a body perspective,” Scheyer said. “There’s differences in their game for sure, but Paolo, when he stepped on the floor, he always knocked people back with how big he was. I think Cam has the ability to do the same thing. He’s always been the biggest guy on the floor and now he gets a chance to play with Pat (Ngongba) and Maliq (Brown) where he’s not going to be the biggest guy. I think that’s a huge advantage for him, using his size and then having the ball skills of a guard.”



Their phenotype are very similar. Boozer is listed at 6-foot-9 and 250 pounds on Duke’s website, while Banchero, now with the Orlando Magic, was listed at 6-foot-10 and 250 pounds when he was with the Blue Devils.&nbsp; It remains to be seen how far he can go with the Blue Devils this season and if he can take them to the top of <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-basketball" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">college basketball</a>.&nbsp;

Besides all the passion she shows on the court, Dawn Staley doesn’t hesitate to do the same on social media. The South Carolina Gamecocks coach has mentored multiple WNBA stars during her 25-year career coaching in women’s <a href="http://bolavip.com/en/college-basketball" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">college basketball</a>.&nbsp;



What makes her relationship with her former players more special, however, is that Staley never stops showing love to them, even after they become professionals. Over the years, she has developed major stars such as A’ja Wilson, Aliyah Boston, and Tiffany Mitchell, to name a few.&nbsp;



While she keeps developing the next generation of stars, Staley pays close attention to what her former players are doing.&nbsp;Amid an entertaining 2025 WNBA season, the three-time college basketball champion has praised her old players whenever she’s had the chance.&nbsp;

Staley revealed last season that she would have liked to see her players receive the same attention Caitlin Clark or Paige Bueckers had during their collegiate careers, and it seems as though she’s making sure she celebrates them in a proper way.&nbsp;
