Slowly, the Colorado Buffaloes are starting to think about the upcoming NCAAF season, and to do so, they are adding experience to Deion Sandersâ staff. Joining Coach Prime is a former Super Bowl champion with Mike Tomlinâs Pittsburgh Steelers and also with Tom Brady in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Coming to Boulder to tackle the upcoming College Football season is former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator, Byron Leftwich. While he had several interviews with various NFL teams, he decided to join Sanders for what lies ahead.
The news was announced by NFL insider Jordan Schultz, who, through his official X (formerly Twitter) account, provided more details about Leftwichâs arrival to the Buffaloes.
âFormer #Bucs OC Byron Leftwich is back in coaching as he is joining Deion Sandersâ staff at Colorado. Leftwich interviewed for multiple NFL jobs this past cycle (Pats HC, Seahawks OC) but now makes the move to college,â Schultz reported via @Schultz_Report.

Throughout his NFL playing career, Byron Leftwich had two stints with the Pittsburgh Steelers, with the first one undoubtedly being the most important. The quarterback was part of that Mike Tomlin-led team that became Super Bowl XLIII champions.

The championship with Brady
In 2019, Leftwich arrived at the Buccaneers as the newly appointed offensive coordinator, coming from the Cardinals. Two years later, he would win his second Super Bowl ring, this time as a coach.
