Many fans expressed concern that Rojas, who has been thriving, could be pushed aside. “Rojas has already proven he’s an everyday player in center field. I love Marsh and I always will, but he’s just not it,” wrote user @zeglerverse.
There’s no question fans want Rojas to remain the starting center fielder. “I’m going to flip if this dude gets playing time over Rojas,” one fan posted, echoing the sentiment. Rojas, a Dominican outfielder, is currently hitting over .300 and has delivered solid performances during Marsh’s absence.
Fan Pushback Focused on Keeping Rojas in Center
Across several Phillies-focused accounts that shared the roster update, the fan responses were strikingly similar: calls to keep Rojas in center. “Keep Rojas in center,” another user replied in reaction to the Marsh news.
There were, however, a few fans standing up for Marsh, hoping he can return to form. “If we can get the 2023 Marsh that batted .277, slugged .458, and had an .829 OPS back, all these haters would go away,” wrote @Dylan_McDowell on X.
