Cody Bellinger is a big fan of LeBron James, reaching the level of ‘fanboy’ due to how much he admires and respect the player. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar is one of the best and most famous athletes in the world and he’s drawn admiration from athletes from different disciplines.

One of those is Bellinger, who recently won the 2020 MLB World Series with the Los Angeles Dodgers, beating the Tampa Bay Rays in six games. Cody felt very well when Bron tweeted praising him during the World Series and now has spoken about that moment and how he felt seeing one of the greatest athletes of all time lauding him.

The 25-year-old is one of the best and most respected players in the Majors but he can’t help but feel flattered when somebody like LeBron congratulates him. That just hits differently for everybody and Bellinger wasn’t the exception, even if he’s an MLB MVP award winner.

Cody Bellinger talks about being lauded by LeBron James during World Series

Bellinger revealed that seeing the Lakers winning the NBA championship in the Orlando bubble fueled them to win the World Series. They had to overcome some big obstacles, including being 3-1 down in the National League Championship Series against the Atlanta Braves.

“Yo, you got LeBron to tweet at you!” Even if you’re an athlete, LeBron James is LeBron James, the GOAT of everything, so it was cool. The Lakers definitely motivated us. When we saw them win, we were like, “What we got in this locker room, we can do the same thing. We’re so talented.”

Bellinger and co. saw the Lakers being successful in the bubble and they didn’t want to be less. They got to work, overcame obstacle after obstacle and the final outcome was a championship that had been elusive in over 30 years.

Bellinger won the 2019 National League MVP award and the only title he was missing arrived this year. Cody, the Dodgers and the fans are living sweet moments right now.
