Francisco Lindor continues to perform well this season, but he’s fully aware that teammate Juan Soto is going through a rough stretch. In a recent message, Lindor called on New York Mets fans to show support for Juan Soto, who has publicly acknowledged his recent struggles.
“I encourage every fan to come out … and give (Soto) love. They’ve done that for me, they’ve done that for other players here. Continue to give him love, he deserves it,” Lindor told reporter Manny Gómez when asked about Soto’s situation.
Now it remains to be seen whether Mets fans will respond to Lindor’s message — especially considering he’s experienced similar slumps in the past. Lindor recently hit his 260th career home run, tying him with Derek Jeter.
Lindor outperforming Soto in 2025
Statistically, Lindor is having a stronger MLB season than Soto. The Mets’ No. 12 leads Soto in several categories, including home runs with 10 (two more than Soto), and batting average at .269. He also has 60 hits — 15 more than Soto — and has driven in 31 runs compared to Soto’s 25.
In the Mets’ most recent game against the Rockies, Lindor homered from both sides of the plate. Meanwhile, Soto hasn’t hit a home run since May 5. Still, his teammate and manager Carlos Mendoza continue to offer public support during this difficult stretch.

A chance to show support at Citi Field
Mets fans will have a chance to show that support during the current home series against the Rockies before the team heads out west to face the Dodgers and Rockies on the road. Soto has hit three of his eight home runs this season at Citi Field, but in his most recent game at home, he went 0-for-4, dropping his average to .224.
