Giancarlo Stanton issues warning about Yankees lineup following wild win over Mariners

One of the toughest wins of the season for the New York Yankees came in a game where they were trailing the Seattle Mariners. The team rallied from behind for the victory, and afterward, Giancarlo Stanton made it clear just how dangerous this lineup can be.

Giancarlo Stanton finally returned to the New York Yankees lineup, bringing a sense of relief to fans—and a serious threat to opposing teams like the Seattle Mariners, who just witnessed firsthand how dangerous the Bombers can be. Down 5–0, the Yankees rallied for one of their most thrilling wins of the season.

Stanton delivered 2 RBIs in a single at-bat, launching one of his signature no-doubt home runs—this one traveling 415 feet to center field. After the game, Stanton issued a warning to the rest of the league: ā€œNo lead is safe. Never put anything past this lineup.ā€

Despite the dramatic win over the Mariners, Stanton’s warning doesn’t carry the same weight it might have a few weeks ago, as the Yankees have stumbled through July. They’ve won just 4 of their 9 games so far this month and have yet to reclaim the division lead from the Blue Jays.

A strong July for Stanton

Individually, Stanton is putting together a solid month. His latest homer was especially notable, as it came in a rare pinch-hit appearance. ā€œI haven’t pinch-hit too much and I haven’t been the greatest at it either, so it was good,ā€ Stanton said after launching his third homer of July.

Since returning to the majors less than a month ago, Stanton is 7-for-26 in July. He’s recorded at least one hit in each of his last four games—a productive streak that has coincided with four straight Yankees wins over the Mets and Mariners.

Looking ahead: Yankees vs. Cubs

Stanton and the Yankees will have a chance to build on their momentum in an upcoming home series against the Chicago Cubs. The last time the Cubs visited Yankee Stadium, they won the series 2–1 in 2023. The Bombers did win the series in Chicago last season, but they haven’t beaten the Cubs at home since 2022.
