Francisco Lindor has finally broken out of the worst hitting slump of his career at a crucial time for the New York Mets. After enduring a career-worst 0-for-31 hitless streak, Lindor has responded impressively with five hits over the last two games, showing signs that he is returning to his MVP-caliber form.

In the Mets’ recent 8-1 win over the San Francisco Giants, Lindor went 3-for-5, demonstrating the kind of offensive versatility and patience that his team sorely needs. The confidence of Mets manager Carlos Mendoza and the support of the hitting staff appear to be fueling his resurgence.

“His ability to use the whole field, and going the other way, that’s when he’s at his best,” Mendoza said after the game, according to SNY. “Some really good signs and it’s good to have him feeling that way.”

How has Lindor’s approach to the plate changed recently?

Mendoza broke down Lindor’s three hits during the game, highlighting the encouraging signs in each at-bat. His first hit was a sharp single up the middle in the opening inning. The second was a pulled inside fastball over the right-field wall, marking his 20th home run of the season. Despite striking out in the subsequent two at-bats, Lindor ended the game with a ground-rule double down the left-field line, going the other way.

Lindor himself attributed his success to a clear game plan and rhythm in his swing. I got rhythm. I feel good. I did what I wanted to do today. Had a game plan and was able to execute it. That means my swing is in a good spot. Stay the course, continue to be better every day.”
