Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani remains committed to his pitching rehabilitation, working closely with the team’s coaching staff to rebuild strength and velocity in his arm following recent elbow surgery. While his offensive production has been outstanding early in the MLB season, his eventual return to the mound remains a key objective for the organization.
According to comments he made to ESPN, Ohtani is pleased with his physical progress, though certain limitations remain regarding the intensity and variety of pitches he can throw during bullpen sessions.
“I feel pretty good with where I am at physically,” Ohtani told ESPN. “There’s some limitation on how hard I am supposed to throw or how many types of pitches I’m allowed to throw. Once that’s cleared, I’ll be able to do all of the above. I feel pretty good about throwing live BP.”
While Ohtani continues to progress in his recovery, the Dodgers have started the season strong, posting a 9-3 record. Even without taking the mound, Ohtani has played a key role in the team’s early success, demonstrating his value as a premier designated hitter.
