Yankees’ Aaron Judge joins rare MLB record with Babe Ruth that stood untouched since 1932

The captain of the New York Yankees continues to shatter records in fewer than ten regular-season games. He now joins a rare and exclusive list alongside Babe Ruth—a legacy as old as the league itself.

Aaron Judge is a home run machine, and he’s wasted no time proving it in the 2025 season. He’s been launching home runs as if that alone could win games, but the most impressive part is that he’s now etched his name alongside Babe Ruth with a historic record.

According to statistics, Judge has managed 5+ home runs and 15+ RBIs in the first six games of a regular season. Remarkably, he achieved this feat in just the early games of 2025, making him only the second player ever to do so after Babe Ruth.

Ruth accomplished this milestone back in 1932, a season that was particularly special for him. That year, the Yankees won the World Series against the Cubs, marking Ruth’s final championship before retiring three seasons later.

Judge holds numerous records, both personal and franchise-related. Additionally, he has 10+ MLB records, with more than half tied to home runs—like being the fastest player to reach 250 and even 300 career home runs.

Judge hasn’t surpassed Ruth in everything

It’s worth noting that it’s unlikely Judge will match all of Ruth’s records or even come close in terms of winning championships. Judge, after all, hasn’t won a single World Series ring so far. However, one area where Judge outpaced Ruth is by hitting 62 home runs in 2022—a feat Ruth never achieved, as he never hit more than 60 in a single season.

The Yankees’ season has the potential to be special

While the Yankees opened the season by winning their first series, Judge set his record in the final game against the Diamondbacks. Unfortunately, they couldn’t win the first two games of that series. Still, the team looks solid, and some rookies are exceeding expectations early on.
