The New York Yankees are poised to get a major boost as superstar outfielder Aaron Judge is ready to come back to the starting lineup for Tuesday's series opener vs. the Atlanta Braves, according to Aaron Boone.

Judge was 'begging' the team not to send him to the injured list, according to MLB's Jon Morosi, claiming he just needed a couple of days off to be back at full strength. Luckily for the Yankees, he was - in fact - ready to come back way earlier than expected.

“I felt like I could have been back out there after a couple of days. That's why I was so adamant about not going on the IL to begin with. I'm feeling great. I could run around, I could jump, I could swing a bat, I could throw. Everything that you need to do for a baseball game, I could do," Judge told the media on Sunday.

Aaron was struggling with a calf injury but it was never expected to be too serious. Then again, given his history with injuries and considering that the Yankees fared pretty well without him anyway, they weren't going to risk him getting hurt again.

Aaron Judge: MVP Candidate

Aaron Judge hit the ground running this season and was looking like an early candidate for AL MVP. He's hitting .290 with 9 home runs, 16 runs, 20 RBIs, an OBP of .340 and an OPS of 1.101. Leading his team to the top of the AL East before falling down with an injury.

Now, Judge will have to keep the momentum going with the Tamp Bay Rays leading the division, as the Bronx Bombersdon't want to leave anything to chance in their road to the postseason and hopefully, the World Series.
