Weāre almost one month away from the 2020 NBA Draft and even though some experts have looked down on this class because of the lack of an NCAA tourney and the regular exposure, the NBA Draft, combine, etc, there are still plenty of reasons to be looking forward to November 18, like finding out whoās going to take LaMelo Ball.
LaMelo Ball is projected to be a top-5 pick in this upcoming Draft and even though there are still some concerns regarding his efficiency, shot selection, and defense, heās definitely got the upside to become a superstar.
Thatās why one of the biggest stories of the year will be watching the younger son of LaVar Ball begin his NBA journey but as of today, thereās not a way of knowing whoās going to take a risk on him.
LaMelo Ball Says Heās Already Talked To The New York Knicks And Golden State Warriors
However, he did say during an interview for the Jalen & Jacoby Podcast that heās already been in contact with the New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors ahead of the upcoming NBA Draft:
āIāve (talked to) two teams: Knicks and Warriors. We got a little Zoom call. (ā¦) I mean, hopefully, everybody is (interested in drafting him). To be honest, Iām really just excited to go out and play,ā Ball said.
LaMelo has the upside to become one of the leagueās most electrifying scorers in no time. Heās got to bulk up and add some muscle and improve his basketball IQ to be a perennial starter in the NBA but the talent is clearly there.
The Warriors are entitled to the 2nd overall pick, while the Knicks would have to find a way to trade up to get him, as they currently own the 8th pick. Hopefully, heāll find a team that can make the most of his talents and helps him blossom into a star.
