The Brooklyn Nets are the team everybody’s talking about right now. It seems like everywhere we turn in the NBA, someone has a take about their unprecedented Big 3 featuring James Harden, Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving. I mean, it’s not hard to get why, as no other team in NBA history hashad three superstars of that caliber all in their prime, not even the 2016-17 Golden State Warriors. Needless to say, it’s championship-or-bust for the Nets after all the moves they’ve made, and they know it.
Some teams crumble under pressure, some thrive, and the same goes for the players. Then again, when you put together this kind of talent, you gotta believe that they’ll figure it out rather sooner than later.
That’s just one of the reasons why people are backing up the Brooklyn Nets to hit the ground runningin the Eastern Conference, and today, we’ll let you know the 5 reasons why they could even win the whole thing this season.
5 Reasons Why The Brooklyn Nets Will Win The NBA Championship
Talent
This is pretty self-explanatory but we’ll dig a little deeper into it. I mean, they have 3 of the10 greatest offensive talents to ever bounce a basketball. Even out of pure talent and will, you gotta believe that they have what it takes to thrive together. We’re talking about Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden after all.
It’s Time
Despite being one of the best teams in the defunct ABA, the Brooklyn (New Jersey) Nets haven’t been able to replicate that success in the NBA. Their first-ever NBA Championship is long overdue and they know it, meaning that they’ll be as aggressive as they need to make more moves and win the ring once and for all.
Easier Conference
It’s not a secret that the Eastern Conference isn’t nearly half as tough as the Western Conference. The Indiana Pacers, Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks, and Philadelphia 76ers have all pretty good teams and have been playing great as of late, but they have a history of underperforming in the playoffs.
Time
We’ve given them a hard time for their terrible performances in the defensive end of the floor but in reality, they’re just getting started. It’s only a matter of time before they get on the same page, and the Nets have already added a great defender in Iman Shumpert, plus they’re expected to trade for or sign a rim protector. They’ll get there.
Legacy
This is perhaps the most important reason of all. We have three all-time greats whose legacy could be on the line here. Kyrie Irving hasn’t been able to win or lead without LeBron James. Kevin Durant left a dynasty to create one of his own, and James Harden has been a no-show in the playoffs more often than not. They know this season will be legacy-defining, especially if they fall short.
