Fame isn’t for everyone. You have to be able to cope with people’s attention, especially if you’re an athlete, as you know you’re going to have a lot of haters coming at you every single day. That’s just another day in the office for NBA players.

Some athletes use their haters and critics as fuel. They’re inspired by criticism and want to do whatever it takes to prove everybody wrong. Others just crumble when things get hard and the fans start calling them out.

Apparently, Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry is more like the first kind of athlete, as, according to his former teammate Andrew Bogut, there’s nothing like a couple of critics to get him going.

Andrew Bogut Says Stephen Curry Checks His Mentions At Halftime

The Australian big man revealed that, whenever Stephen Curry is having a rough game, he actually goes to Twitter in the locker room to check how people are talking about him, then go out and go human-torch mode in the second half of the game:

“He’ll check his mentions at halftime, when he has a bad half. It’s the craziest sh-t I ever saw. Yeah, Steph, if he had a bad half, he would go on social media and then come out and drop 30 [in the second half],” Bogut said on his podcast ‘Rogue Bogues’.

While some people may argue that logging on to social media mid-game is crazy, it seems like that definitely works for Steph, who’s one of the greatest scorers and most likely the greatest shooterof all time and can get hot in the blink of an eye.

Clearly, whatever motivation tactics he’s using is paying off, as he’s a 2-time MVP (one unanimous), and 3-time NBA Champion. You may or may not like the way he plays the game but no one can take that away from him.
