Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors have struggled to compensate for the absence of Stephen Curry, who remains sidelined with an injury sustained during the series against the Minnesota Timberwolves. With the Timberwolves leading 3–1, Green shared candid thoughts on Curry’s potential return ahead of a pivotal Game 5.
The upcoming matchup is a must-win for Golden State. A victory would extend the series and give them a shot at forcing a Game 6 and 7. A loss, however, would send the Timberwolves to the Western Conference Finals, where they would await the winner of the Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Denver Nuggets series.
Speaking to the media after a tough loss in Game 4, Green acknowledged the disappointment but remained optimistic. He emphasized that the team is determined to find a way forward, regardless of Curry’s status.
“We don’t need Superman. Play the long game. If he can [return], we know he will,” Green said. “But we’ve got to figure out a way to win whether he plays or not.” He added that Curry should only come back if he’s fully ready, stressing that the team doesn’t want him to take any unnecessary risks.
