Since arriving in the NBA, Giannis Antetokounmpo has made a massive impact on the league. He quickly became one of the best players in Milwaukee Bucks history. Giannis has spent 12 seasons with the team and built an impressive résumé. He won the NBA MVP Award twice (2019, 2020). He also led the Bucks to an NBA Championship in 2021. In 2024, he added an NBA Cup title to his list of achievements. After winning so much in his career, Giannis made an interesting comparison about what it really means to win.
“Listen, the MVP discussion is great. I’ve been in the MVP discussion, what, like the last seven years? It’s a great compliment. But at the end of the day, winning is a different feeling. I was able to live it once (in 2021). I don’t know if people feel like it counts or it doesn’t count… but winning is winning, so is the NBA Cup. It was like, wow, this feeling, man, it’s like, it’s better than intimacy,” states Giannis Antetokounmpo.
For Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, winning the NBA MVP award this season would be deeply emotional. “It will definitely might put tears in my eyes,” he said. Giannis reflected on the meaning the honor would carry. He also admitted he is playing better now than during his back-to-back MVP seasons. However, the race for MVP award will not be easy.
Nikola Jokic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continue to deliver standout performances. Both remain strong contenders. Still, the award is within reach. The Milwaukee Bucks are having a solid season. They have played with impressive consistency and now sit fifth in the Eastern Conference.

Giannis has led the way as the team’s offensive force. He is averaging 30.2 points, 12 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game. His all-around impact makes him a legitimate MVP candidate. It also puts the Bucks in position to chase the NBA title.
