Jimmy Butler had a tough upbringing, his father abandoned him and his family when he was an infant. When he was 13 his mother kicked him out of the house, claiming in a 2011 interview his mother simply told him "I don't like the look of you. You gotta go."

Despite all these issues Butler was able to patch things up with both his parents and in his senior year in high school, he moved into the house of his friend Jordan Leslie. Butler played basketball for his high school and then in college until eventually being drafted in 2011 by the Chicago Bulls.

His NBA career has been a statement of remarkable achievements for a player who did not go to a big-name school and was not heavily recruited in high school. While he is competing for his first NBA ring and having played on four teams, Butler has amassed some distinctive individual awards. He is a five-time NBA All-Star, a three-time All-NBA Third Team, and 2015 NBA Most Improved Player. Jimmy Butler’s current salary is estimated to be $19.9 million according to Forbes.
