Video: Kyrie Irving taunts his haters again one day after public apology

Kyrie Irving's humble and down-to-earth attitude didn't last long, as he flipped his ring finger to call his haters out less than 24 hours after issuing a public apology.

Kyrie Irving has stolen most of the headlines this NBA season despite making just a handful of appearances for the Brooklyn Nets. So far, he’s been the story of the year, even ahead of the James Harden trade.

Uncle Drew was nowhere to be found for days and didn’t explain to the organization why he left, then was spotted partying maskless in Toronto after citing that he ā€˜just didn’t want to play’. Obviously, he drew a lot of criticism for that, as he should.

Then, Irving issued a public apology to the fans and the organization, claiming that he wants to be a part of something ā€˜ā€˜bigger than an NBA Championshipā€ and that he just needed a break from the game.

ā€œIt’s a lot of family and personal stuff going on, so just want to leave it at that. I’m back, I’m happy to be back and I let my actions speak for themselves. I just needed a pause,ā€ Kyrie started.

ā€œThe fans out there, I want to apologize to them as well. My commitment has always been to bring something special to Brooklyn and it wasn’t just a championship. It was unity, equality, just bigger things than just the game itself, ā€ he concluded.

Then, just minutes into his first game back from that undisclosed absence, he taunted his haters again by flipping his ring finger right in the middle of a tribute video the Cleveland Cavaliers put together for him.

That’s definitely going to rub a lot of people the wrong way, but hey, it’s just Kyrie being Kyrie. And if he keeps putting the ball in the hoop the way he did last night, then the Nets aren’t going to complain if he misses a game or two.

The Nets lost during Kyrie’s first game back in a double-overtime thriller with the Cavaliers. They have an all-time great potential in the offensive end but just can’t get stops, and Irving’s presence clearly messed with James Harden’s rhythm, so it seems like Steve Nash has some figuring out to do.
