As if it wasn’t enough with LeBron James and Anthony Davis, Rob Pelinka and the Los Angeles Lakers continue to make huge moves to improve their already impressive roster, signing Montrezl Harrell and Wesley Matthews, and trading for Dennis Schroder.
The Lakers were the best and most consistent team in the NBA from start to finish last season. Their combination of hardnosed veterans, tough defenders, and the best duo in the league paved the way for a somewhat easy ring
But, given that the rest of the teams in the Western Conference are going to be even more stacked next season, the Lakers jumped early in free-agency to land some of the best talents available.
Needless to say, hilarious memes and reactions flooded the internet, either pointing at LeBron James for ‘needing help’ or ‘playing GM’ or congratulating the Lakers for winning back-to-back NBA Championships. Check out the best of them right here.

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. LeBron’s agency steers Montrezl Harrell to the Lakers, says his agent Rich Paul, who runs Klutch for LeBron. Trez is signing for only about $9 mil, a stunning steal for the Lakers. I guess the NBA is now a LeBronopoly.

Even if LeBron James has had his fair share of top-tier teammates, it’s unfair to deny that he’s always been the best player on his team and that he’s made everybody around him better players, even if their numbers take a hit.
Montrezl Harrell and Dennis Schroder are coming off being 1 and 2 in the Sixth Man of the Year voting. Wesley Matthews is a hard-working veteran with a great feel for knocking down three-pointers and an outstanding defender.
On their own, it’s unlikely that these players would be able to lead a team to actually contend for an NBA Championship but next to LeBron James, you have yourself a terrifying squad, that’s for sure. Now, the Lakers must live up to the hype and win their second straight ring in the 2020-21 season.
