LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are living the dream right now. Even if theseason opener vs. the Los Angeles Clippers didn’t end as expected, nothing could spoil their evening after getting some brand new NBA championship rings.

The Los Angeles Lakers overcame adversities during the most complicated season in major sports history to clinch their league-high-tying 17th Larry O’Brien trophy. Last night, they got their rings on a touching ceremony at an empty Staples Center.

Needless to say, all the cameras were on LeBron James. The King just won his fourth NBA championship and has made it to 9 of the past 10 NBA Finals, cementing himself as the most dominant player of his generation.

LeBron James Channels Inner Drake With Ring Ceremony Picture

LeBron James is clearly having a great time right now. He didn’t even mind the loss he suffered to his crosstown rivals, and took to Instagram to quote Drake and Future’s ‘Big Rings’ while showing off his newest piece of jewelry:

“We need some really nice things/ We need some really big RINGS/ I got a really big team/ Better be comin’ with no strings! Man WHAT A TIME!” the soon-to-be 36 years old wrote on the post.

It’s safe to say that LeBron James picked off things where he left them last season, scoring a team-high 22 points with 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 three-pointers, and 4 turnovers in just 28 minutes vs. the Clippers.

Now, however, he and the Lakers will have the tough responsibility of defending their crown, which is going to be even harder considering how much their rivals improved in the offseason and how little time they got to recover from last season. But hey, if anyone can lead them to the ultimate glory again, that’s LeBron James.
