There was a lot of speculation and rumors around the NBA and Hollywood as soon as they announced that LeBron James was going to star in Space Jam: A New Legacy, the sequel from that legendary film by Michael Jordan and the Looney Tunes.

The first and biggest of those rumors, obviously, was that LeBron was going to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers again and sign with the Los Angeles Lakers,as he looked to be closer to Hollywood while continue to pursue glory in the hardwood.

And, now that he’s fresh off winning his fourth NBA Championship and leading the purple-and-gold to yet another ring, we’ll finally get to see something other than the leaked uniforms for this movie, aswriter/director Ben Mekler leaked the synopsis online.

Ben Mekler Leaks Plot Of Space Jam: A New Legacy Featuring LeBron James

“During a trip to the Warner Bros. studio, NBA Superstar LeBron James and his son accidentally get trapped within a world that contains all of Warner Bros.’ stories and characters, under the control of a malfunctioning, all-powerful force named Al G (played by Don Cheadle). With the help of Bugs Bunny, LeBron must navigate through a never-before-imagined world filled with iconic movie scenes and characters as they re-assemble the Looney Tunes to rescue his lost son. Now to get back home, Lebron and the Tunes have to unravel Al G’s mysterious plan and win an epic basketball game against digital gamified super-versions of the NBA and WNBA’s biggest stars as the entire world watches,” the synopsis reads.

We already knew that the movie was going to focus more on LeBron and his family and less on other NBA players, as James reportedly had a tough time recruiting stars to join him in the film because they didn’t want to take time off from their workouts.

The movie is currently in post-production and it’s expected to be released on July 16, 2021, and I think we speak for every single basketball fan in the world when we say that it can’t come soon enough.
