No one, not even the most optimistic Dallas Mavericks’ fan or scout ever thought that Luka Doncic was going to take the NBA by storm as quickly as he did it. Team owner Mark Cuban, his coach Rick Carlisle and the organization as a whole were quite excited about him but no one ever saw this coming.

Doncic became one of the best players in the world during his rookie season and only kept it going during his sophomore year, up to the point that he is already one of the most respected and feared players in the NBA.

The Mavericks traded for Kristaps Porzingis to pair Luka with a fellow European offensive juggernaut and that move has surely paid off, as the team was able to make the playoffs and had a strong chance of upsetting the Los Angeles Clippers.

Luka Doncic Is The NBA’s Biggest Sensation

Doncic is coming off a Rookie of the Year campaign and somehow took it up a notch this season. He’s averaging a whopping 28.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game and is a finalist for the Most Improved Player award, although those are MVP-caliber numbers.
