LeBron James entered this NBA season with a mission: defend the 2020 championship with the Los Angeles Lakers. So far heās done a terrific job but he can be better, especially in the final stretches of games.
The King has been great this campaign, too, but there is something missing now that could take him to the next level with his squad. They are playing great basketball but after the collapse against the Warriors on Monday, Bron has received some criticism.
Itās not like James has been bad for his team but people have noticed his numbers have decreased this season when heās in the 4th quarter and that canāt be good for a team with big aspirations as the Lakers.
Skip Bayless criticizes LeBron James for struggling in the 4th quarter of games
One of his most famous haters, Skip Bayless, attacked the Los Angeles Lakers superstar for his struggles in the 4th quarter of matches. This comes after LeBron missed a game-winner over Draymond Green in the Lakers 115-113 loss to the Warriors. During a recent edition of FS1ās Undisputed, Bayless expressed:
āLeBron James has become an early season 4th quarter disaster⦠Heās never been this bad⦠Team still does not have a closer. Team is really good and fire-powerful, and if it jumps out on you, and buries you, youāre mostly buried. But if you can hang in, and get this game down to the last 4-5 minutes close, you got a real shot.ā
āIn 15 games, LeBron James is shooting 36% from the floor in the 4th quarter. Heās at 50% career shooter for four quarters from the floor. From three in the 4th quarter, he is 26%. His field goal shooting ranks 203rd in the NBA in the 4th quarter and his three-point shooting ranks 146 in the fourth quarter. Thatās just not LeBron James.ā
This is not good for the King, who needs to step up and close out games if he wants to lead his team to the postseason and the championship. The season is still young and Bron and the Lakers have plenty of things to work on and this is one of those.
Not many people expect LeBron to keep playing this bad down the stretch but the sooner he starts improving his numbers, the better for him and his teammates. The Lakers are currently 1st in the West with 11 games and 5 losses.
