Not so long ago, most insiders were convinced Ben Simmons was a superstar prospect. Built like a small forward and with the skills of a point guard, the Philadelphia 76ers were high on a potentially generational player.

However, even back then, his character flaws were more than evident. Scouts didn't like his body language or how he handled himself through adversity. He looked down on his teammates and rivals, and constantly bailed out when things got difficult.

Fast forward to today, and that hasn't changed at all. The only difference is that Simmons isn't a prospect anymore. He's making top dollar and was supposed to be a star in this league. That's why his Brooklyn Nets teammates are reportedly frustrated with his performances.

NBA News: Nets Held A Players-Only Meeting To Talk About Ben Simmons

(via The Athletic)

"The Brooklyn Nets held a players-only meeting on Oct. 29 to discuss point guard Ben Simmons’ performance this season, sources with direct knowledge of those meetings, but who are unauthorized to speak about it, tell The Athletic. Here’s what you need to know:

- The team’s level of exasperation toward Simmons bubbled to the surface when they met after a loss to the Indiana Pacers.

-Veteran forward Markieff Morris spoke in front of the team about how they need Simmons to succeed and that he has to respond when he deals with adversity on the court.

- Simmons appeared to take Morris’ words in stride and was responsive and attentive throughout, sources said."

Simmons has been dreadful on both ends of the floor this season, and plenty of his team's success hinges on his ability to turn things around. However, some question his feel and passion for the game and whether he wants to be out there. Hopefully, he'll take a deep look in the mirror and get past this.
