Tom Thibodeau's tenure with the Minnesota Timberwolves was full of ups and downs. He put together a competitive team and managed to put an end to their playoff drought but things still end up in a disaster.

The Timberwolves' locker room was out of control. Jimmy Butler and Karl-Anthony Towns didn't get along because Jimmy felt like he didn't care about winning. Also, there were some rumors about Butler and Towns' girlfriend hooking up.

At the end of the day, it was coach Thibs the one to take the blame and he was fired almost right away. Needless to say, with him and Butler leaving, the team sunk into a mediocrity spiral once again.

Tom Thibodeau Wants To Reunite With Karl-Anthony Towns

Now, however, it seems like Thibodeau is ready to bury the hatchet and pursue one of the main responsible for his departure. According to Stefan Bondy of New York Daily News, he wants the Knicks to pursue Karl-Anthony Towns:

“I don’t know if Minnesota would ever make Karl-Anthony Towns available. But as bad as things ended for Thibodeau in Minnesota, I’ve heard that he’d be open to Karl-Anthony Towns again because Thibodeau just wants to win and he thinks Karl-Anthony Towns will help him to that end. And so I know that Karl-Anthony Towns is somebody that’s actually been reported before that the Knicks are monitoring as well," Bondy reported.

There's no denying that Karl-Anthony Towns is one of the most talented players in the NBA. And while his drive, competitiveness, and desire to win have been questioned in the past, perhaps he just needs a change of scenery.

Now, whether the Timberwolves will ever entertain the idea of letting him walk is yet to be seen, especially after they tried to pair him with his best friend, D'Angelo Russell. But, should he become available, he'd definitely be that star the Big Apple has been craving for years.
