Towns has made some blunt takes about him and his career, from saying that he’s the greatest shooting big man ever to saying that he could average 40 if he called his own plays, and even saying that he’s changed the game.



But those weren’t the only borderline-delusional takes he shared in his latest appearance on Patrick Beverley’s podcast. He also said that his team making the playoffs last year was more impressive than the<a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/denver-nuggets" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Denver Nuggets</a> winning the title this year.

“I just played them in the playoffs,” Towns said. “They were telling us our plays, ayo they weren’t even talking. Ball just goes right to the area and the person was just randomly right there. I’m like ‘How is this possible?&apos;”



“What’s one of the things that like you see as more special? What was special was what we did in Minnesota,” Towns continued. “Because we had like a month, and then we have training camp, and it was like you better figure it all, and we figure it out right now. If you think about it. They had four years, we got it done in four months.”

For whatever reason, Towns wants us to believe that upsetting an undermanned Los Angeles Clippers team in a Play-in game was actually more impressive than going 16-4 in the playoffs and winning an NBA championship.



It’s ok to be confident and have an ego if you’re an NBA player; that’s perfectly fine. But someone needs to check on Towns and what he’s eating lately, as he’s going off the rails pretty badly.

The <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/boston-celtics" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Boston Celtics</a> were the oddsmakers’ favorites to make it to the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/nba" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">NBA </a>Finals out of the Eastern Conference. However, they couldn’t get the job done vs. the No. 8 seed <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/miami-heat" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Miami Heat.</a>



Jayson Tatum’s stellar play wasn’t enough to uplift his team this time. Jaylen Brown underperformed, and some believe it’s time to break up that duo and maybe even part ways with Marcus Smart as well.



Obviously, that would only happen if they could get an <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nba/nba-rumors-potential-destinations-for-jaylen-brown-20230524-BUS-3573.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">All-Star</a>-caliber player in return. And while there may not be a lot of those available, we’ll take a look at three realistic options they could target.

Karl-Anthony Towns missed a big stretch of the season with an injury. The Minnesota Timberwolves tried to pair him with Rudy Gobert, which obviously was a dubious experiment.



The early results weren’t encouraging, and it doesn’t feel like they’ll ever figure things out. The Celtics lack size and could use another shooter, so the fit is more than obvious.

Most analysts predict the Portland Trail Blazers to either blow it up and trade Damian Lillard or trade their No. 3 pick to build around him. There’s a third scenario in which they trade Lillard and rebuild around someone else.



With that in mind, the Blazers could look to complete a sign-and-trade with Jaylen Brown, keeping him as their franchise player and sending their aging star away.

The Chicago Bulls reportedly fear Lonzo Ball won’t ever play again. They need a point guard and a gritty defender, and Marcus Smart checks out both boxes. They’d need to add fillers and picks, but they could get it done.



Zach LaVine’s relationship with Billy Donovan is far from ideal, and the Bulls might need to retool and rebuild rather than run it back with this mediocre core. It’s a long shot, but LaVine has been tied with multiple teams over the past two years.

But it’s become evident that some of their pieces aren’t a good fit, at least right now. They don’t have enough time to develop their young, promising guys, and that could be a problem.



With that in mind, the Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report believes they could pursue <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/minnesota%C2%A0timberwolves" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Minnesota Timberwolves’</a> Karl-Anthony Towns, who would also welcome a change of scenery.

“Towns had a tough season, losing nearly four months to a calf strain and sliding over from center to power forward to accommodate Rudy Gobert. It speaks to Towns’ talent level that he handled all of that and still found his way to 20.8 points, 8.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists. (…)



Adding him to Golden State’s motion offense might send it into overdrive. He’s a really good shooter (career 39.5 percent from three), but maybe history’s best shooting big man. He can also keep things moving as a passer or toy with smaller defenders in the post. (…)



As for the Wolves, they might already accept that the Towns-Gobert tandem isn’t the right approach in the modern Association. They could brighten their present by adding Poole’s creation and shot-making, and they could really be in business down the line if Kuminga maxes out his potential and one or both of Patrick Baldwin Jr. and the incoming draft pick hit.”
