Paul George and Tyronn Lue speak up after falling 0-2 vs. the Mavericks

The Los Angeles Clippers can't seem to figure out Luka Doncic and the red-hot Dallas Mavericks and fell to a 0-2 hole in the first round of the NBA playoffs.

The Los Angeles Clippers are once again the most disappointing team in the NBA. Thus far, they can’t seem to have an answer for the Dallas Mavericks and are at serious risk of being swept despite having homecourt advantage.

Tyronn Lue’s team couldn’t execute down the stretch in Game 1 and suffered a big upset. They didn’t make the slightest adjustment for the second game of the series and the outcome was pretty much the same.

The Clippers can’t seem to find a way to stopLuka Doncic. But more than that, it looks like they’re unwilling to even try, as they continue to send Patrick Beverley at him – instead of Kawhi Leonard or Paul George – or even double-team him.

Paul George And Tryonn Lue Aren’t Worried After Falling 0-2 To The Dallas Mavericks

Despite falling to a 0-2 hole, Paul George is unbothered by the situation. According to the former Pacers star, there’s no level of concern in the Clippers locker room, which is even more worrying given the situation:

ā€œWe have to rise to the occasion. Fact of the matter is if we don’t, we’re done for. But there’s no level of concern… Dallas is free, they’re playing with confidence. I think we’re giving them a little bit too much confidence,ā€ George told the media after the game.

Tyronn Lue offered pretty much the same response. He claims that the Mavericks had no pressure or sense of urgency because they were playing on the road and that now it’s their turn to deliver:

ā€œI’m not concerned. We gotta win four games and you come onto the opposing team’s floor and you play, there’s no pressure on you to make shots because you’re just trying to come in and steal one game or two games. Now they gotta go home and try to keep up the same shooting. It’s easy to come on the road and do that when there’s no pressure,ā€œ Lue said.

That statement makes as little sense as Lue’s defensive assignments or the Clippers’ help defense. They have their backs against the wall and are in serious jeopardy of becoming the league’s laughing stock. Again.

Also, Kahwi Leonard is expected to become a free agent at the end of the season, and even though rumors say that he’s looking forward to resigning with them, a first-round exit – let alone a sweep – might as well change his mind.
