The Brooklyn Nets have a complicated situation on their hands. Once again, all because of Kyrie Irving. Now, the VP of the NBAPA has made the news for his beliefs in conspiracy theoriesagainst the COVID-19 vaccine.
Irving apparently believes that those who rule the world are using the vaccine as a mastermind plan to connect black people to a computer and Satan. Yeah, you canāt make this up. Or can you?
Needless to say, that has sparked multiple takes left and right around the league. And thatās why Hall of Famer Shaquille OāNeal says that they should move on from him and that heād get him traded right away.
Shaq Calls Out Kyrie Irving, Says The Nets Should Trade Him
āI would go upstairs and say, āGet him up out of here,'ā Shaq said. āWe can win with a two-punch and a great shooter and some rebounders like we got. Get his aāup out of here.ā
āOf course, if I played with him, Iād be in charge all the way, all day,ā he added. āWhoever owns the Brooklyn Nets, get him up out of here. In this game of ours, sometimes you have to think about others instead of yourself. Now, Kyrie has his own views and his opinions. Iām not going to knock that.ā
āHe does have an obligation because he took that $200 million. Once you sign up for this life there is no privacy. And you have to accept it,ā Shaq concluded.
Shaq is completely right. Itās not a matter of what he stands for or whether he wants to get the vaccine or not. Itās a matter of not having a guy that makes $200 million and canāt play half of your games. From a business perspective and from a basketball standpoint, it doesnāt make any sense.
Of course, the Nets wonāt even consider trading Kyrie as they donāt want to make James Harden and Kevin Durant second-guess their future with the franchise. But even if they wanted, some executives believe that Kyrie has zero trade value right now, and not because of his incredible basketball skills.
