Bill Belichick has become one of the greatest (if not the greatest) NFL head coaches of all time with all the impressive things he’s achieved with the New England Patriots in the past two decades. Most of that success came with Tom Brady and now that the quarterback is playing with a different team, the Pats haven’t been the same.

A lot was said when Brady decided to leave the Pats and sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the offseason. Who was going to lose? Brady? Belichick? Even though he was dominated by the New Orleans Saints last Sunday, Brady is the clear winner of this separation.

The Patriots just won their third game of the season in Week 9, improving their record to 3-5, coming back against the New York Jets in a game that was a secure victory for them in prior seasons. Nobody is happy with the things happening to the Pats and people have started throwing ideas on what the team or the head coach should do next.

Bill Belichick tipped to leave Patriots by NFL analyst

Belichick already won everything in New England and just like they did with Brady, people believe it’s time for him to look for new challenges. Sports analyst Colin Cowherd recently dropped an idea for Belichick about leaving the Pats and going to the West Coast to look for new experiences.

Cowherd stated that seeing Cam Newton’s inconsistency this season, Bill would be better off leaving that mess and trying to mentor a young quarterback in Los Angeles.

“They’re not running this Cam thing back. Garoppolo’s the answer? The guy can’t stay healthy. Matt Ryan’s the answer? He’s expensive and past his prime. Tom Brady left New England, why couldn’t Bill Belichick?”

He specifically talked about the Chargers, who have a very interesting quarterback in Justin Herbert. Belichick could be the perfect mentor for him if he decides to leave the Pats.

"Chargers? Looking for a coach maybe. Have the star young quarterback, have the roster, have a star pass rusher….the Chargers need to make a bold move.

“You gotta sell tickets, right now they’re not. Belichick and Justin Herbert, five years. Spanos family, time to spend some money. Brady left, why can’t Bill?” Cowherd concluded.

If Brady leaving the Pats was surprising, imagine how shocking it would be seeing Belichick doing the same, just one year after the quarterback. He owns nothing to nobody and his career should always go first. Perhaps his cycle with the Patriots ended and the next chapter of his career and life is somewhere else, probably Los Angeles.
