The Denver Broncos experienced a major uplift in 2024 thanks to the arrival of Bo Nix. After an outstanding rookie season, expectations are sky-high for the quarterback and what he could accomplish in the 2025 NFL campaign.

In recent years, the Broncos have struggled to find consistency at the quarterback position. Since the retirement of Peyton Manning, the AFC West club had not found a reliable signal-caller—until now.

In the 2024 NFL Draft, head coach Sean Payton selected Bo Nix with the No. 12 overall pick. That move is arguably the best decision the front office has made in years, as the young quarterback brought a much-needed spark to the offense and appears to be the star the team has long been searching for.

The Broncos head into the 2025 NFL season as legitimate contenders in the AFC West. After years of disappointment, last season marked a turning point—and it’s largely due to one player: Bo Nix.

The former Oregon standout had a remarkable debut campaign. He ended the Broncos’ 10-year playoff drought, which is why both fans and teammates have high expectations for what’s ahead.

Marvin Mims, the Broncos’ standout wide receiver, recently spoke about the team’s renewed confidence. As Nix’s top weapon, he believes the entire organization now carries a different mentality and is ready to compete at the highest level.

“You can really feel that the times are changing for us,” Mims said, via SiriusXM NFL. People always like to say a ‘win now’ mode. With the way things went last year, we were projected to be last in the league last year and end up making the wild card. Guys that were here last year, they believe. The guys that are coming in, they want to make an impact too. I think everyone’s hungry.”

While Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are still seen as the team to beat in the division, the Broncos have made it clear they’re no longer content to be in the background. Only time will tell if Bo Nix is truly the franchise quarterback Denver has been waiting for.
