For years, it seems like the Chicago Bears have been a good quarterback away from being a legit Super Bowl contender. It’s happening since the Jay Cutler days but it’s clearer now more than it’s ever been before.
The Bears have gone from one mediocre quarterback to the other, overpaying for their services and even giving away multiple picks. The saddest part is that it seems like they’re always pretty close to landing a star, yet nothing happens.
More recently, they were reportedly leading the race to land Russell Wilson. Sadly, not only did they get snubbed from the negotiations but also, they added yet another subpar gunslinger to their roster and Ryan Pace’s résumé.

Yeah, that’s right. You can now add Andy Dalton to the list of Pace’s quarterback solutionsfor the Bears. That infamous listalso includes Mike Glennon, Mitch Trubisky, and Nick Foles; as they just signed him to a one-year, $10 million deal.

There was a time when Andy Dalton was a capable – regular-season – quarterback. He was never great but he wasn’t that bad either. Then again, it’s clear that his best days are far behind him.
The Bears continue to boast one of the best defenses in the league and have a core capable of putting together a championship run but you just can’t win in the NFL unless you have a good quarterback. Also, they’ll be paying up to $13 million for a guy that’s not even a lock to be a starter, so this doesn’t make any sense at all.
