In an unpredictable league like the NFL, one thing has remained constant in the last 30 years, the Dallas Cowboys don’t win Super Bowls. Determined to end this streak, the Lone Star franchise has made bold moves. One of them is to bring wideout George Pickens to the team to join quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. However, it seems like the team has found one key player who was already on the roster.
That name is KaVontae Turpin. A guy so fast that has become an All-Pro kick returner, Turpin might transform into a unicorn for the Cowboys. Training camps have barely started but Turpin is already making waves… as a running back!
Yes, according to recent reports on the team’s website, Turpin has taken several handoffs and he has impressed with his abilities to make defenders miss. This is an added bonus, as he is also getting targets at the wideout position, where he hasn’t dropped a single pass.
Turpin can be the ‘do it all’ player on the team
Not only is Turpin a certified danger on special teams, but now, he can be an X factor on offense. “The way they get the ball in my hands, you know I’m gonna go out there and be a playmaker,” Turpin said. He is focused on producing for this team.

Last season, Turpin had 420 receiving yards and two touchdowns to go alongside his kick-returning output. Now, he can be a ‘Deebo Samuel‘ of sorts for the Cowboys, meaning a player that can be lined up everywhere on the field as a huge threat.

Cowboys are ready to be a top offense in the NFL
As we’ve mentioned, Turpin can become a very used weapon for Dallas. However, all spotlights are pointing towards CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. They are regarded by some as the best WR-duo in the NFL. They are both tall, lanky, with a huge ability for contested catches. If Prescott finds them, they will produce easily. Lamb is a do-it-all receiver, while Pickens‘ danger is found mostly on deep routes outside the numbers.
Also, the running game has faced an overhaul. Last year, it was Rico Dowdle, but with him now on Carolina, new faces are taking the running game into their hands. Javonte Williams comes from Denver to install brute force and strength, while Miles Sanders will be the more agile and slick back. This offense, if coached well, can be a top 10 unit based on potential alone.
