It’s been a while since we last heard of Deshaun Watson for good reasons. Despite being one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, the Houston Texans star has bigger concerns than football right now.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you may know that Watson is facing nearly 2 dozens of civil lawsuits for sexual misconduct. Needless to say, that forced his team to keep him in the inactive list while the investigations are ongoing.
Now, a report claims that his legal turmoil isn’t going to go away any time soon, and that his situation won’t be cleared before the November 2 trade deadline. So, will the Texans let him go at a discount? Will any team be interested in his services under this conditions?
NFL News: Deshaun Watson’s Situation Won’t Be Cleared Before The Trade Deadline
“It’s looking more unlikely that Deshaun Watson’s criminal inquiry over allegations of sexual misconduct will be completed before the Nov. 2 NFL trade deadline, sources tell Front Office Sports,” reported AJ Perez.

Dolphins Could Still Trade For Deshaun Watson
Even so, it seems like Watson’s situation won’t be enough to scare away some of his suitors. According to a report, the Miami Dolphins would still be interested in making a run at him and wait for him to be cleared to play again.

“As previously mentioned, the Dolphins were talking to the league office in an effort to gather insight as to whether Watson, if traded, would land on paid leave. For now, the league hasn’t decided whether to place Watson on the Commissioner Exempt list because the Texans are already paying him to not play. The moment he’d be traded, the league would then have to decide whether to intervene.
The Dolphins ultimately weren’t scared off by the possibility of paid leave but by the asking price from the Texans, who refused to bend in their desire for three first-round picks and two second-round picks. (One source believes the Texans want four first-round picks and two second-round picks from Miami.)”
Dolphins coach Brian Flores has repeatedly stated that he’ll roll with Tua Tagovailoa as his quarterback. But Tua has been unimpressive thus far and the Dolphins put together a roster to compete right away, so that might as well change pretty soon.
