The road ahead for the Miami Dolphins in the upcoming NFL season will be anything but easy, as their division rivals are preparing at the highest level. In response, both Mike McDaniel and Tua Tagovailoa hope to have as many healthy players available as possible by Week 1.
Tyreek Hill, for example, was one of the quarterback’s most targeted options last season, though a wrist injury kept him from performing at his best. After undergoing surgery, South Florida is hopeful he’ll be fully recovered for the first game.
In recent statements, and amid constant questions from the media, Mike McDaniel addressed the RB’s current status. The head coach said he feels confident about the former Chiefs star, who appears to be on track to be ready for the team’s season opener without any issues.
“He’s trying to get me to go against the process and shortchange when he’s supposed to catch footballs, but we’re being very diligent,” McDaniel said in his Wednesday press conference, via transcript from the team. “He’s pitching to do more and more, which is good. He’s been active in the offseason program, all while not catching footballs.

What can be expected from the Dolphins this season?
The Miami Dolphins enter the new season with high expectations and a clear mission: challenge the Buffalo Bills for control of the AFC East. Much of their success will depend on Tua Tagovailoa’s ability to stay healthy and avoid the concussion issues that have limited him in the past.
Head coach Mike McDaniel is aiming for a more balanced team, emphasizing consistency on both sides of the ball. A healthy Tyreek Hill would once again provide explosive playmaking on offense, while the running game is expected to take on a greater role in driving the attack.
Tight end Jonnu Smith is expected to be a reliable option in the passing game, but the defense will have to adjust without Jalen Ramsey. Still, with the right pieces in place, Miami believes this could be the season they finally take the next step.
