Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers are not happy with the way the NFL has handled DK Metcalf’s situation, according to a report by Gerry Dulac. The two-game suspension for the wide receiver after he attempted to hit a fan in Detroit could be the key factor that derails their playoff hopes.

“The Steelers remain upset that the NFL and the Detroit Lions did not alert them before the game about the incident between Metcalf and the same fan a year earlier when Metcalf was with the Seattle Seahawks. Had they done so, additional procedures could have been put in place, by the league, Lions or Steelers, to prevent what ultimately recurred. It probably did not sit well with them either, that Metcalf’s appeals hearing was handled by a one-time division rival in former Browns coach Chris Palmer, who was appointed by the league.”

Aaron Rodgers was unable to count on his best weapon in the last game against the Cleveland Browns and, as a result, had to rely heavily on Marquez Valdes-Scantling in clutch moments. Undoubtedly, Metcalf’s presence could have changed the outcome of that matchup, and perhaps the Steelers would already have the AFC North title secured.
