It was just another day at the office for Bill Belichick and his New England Patriots, who at the end of Week 7 defeated the New York Jets by a score of 54-13. The win improved the Patriots to 3-4 and positioned them in the AFC East in second place behind the Buffalo Bills.

The game itself was not something to remember, a very inexperienced New York Jets got routed from start to finish by a Patriots side that showed their potential in the match. In the first quarter the game was 14-0 and by the fourth the Patriots rang up 20 more points, the most in the game, to defeat the Jets from start to finish.

Belichick even gave himself the luxury to play three quarterbacks in the game. Now NFL Films put out a compilation of the coaches’ reactions and well… you’d never figure his team won by 41 points.

The 69-year-old coach was not getting too hung up on the blowout win stating: “Really I just am trying to think about what I can do to help our team perform better and do a good job for the Patriots. That’s all in the rearview mirror, it’s really for me just looking ahead and trying to do a good job with this team. I need to do a better job, so I’ll just focus on that.”

In his overall assessment of his team, Belichick believes the Patriots are on the right track: “They come to work every day. We’ve improved every day, really every week. We’re far from perfect and far from where we need to be, but we’re heading in the right direction.”
