Andy Reid is keeping an eye on the Kansas City Chiefs offseason as they make moves to add depth to their roster for the 2025 NFL season. Star Travis Kelce will add a teammate who was already on the defensive side of the team in 2023, when he won a Super Bowl as a teammate of legend Tom Brady.
Although it was rumored days ago, in the last hours the Chiefs confirmed the return of a safety who has a considerable trajectory in the league, accompanying Brady to lift one of his six rings. The purpose of this recruitment is to add variations to a roster that has Kelce as one of the main exponents, in the search to overcome the defeat suffered in Super Bowl 2025.
The player who has been officially confirmed as a new addition for Andy Reid’s Chiefs is none other than Mike Edwards, who already had a stint in Kansas City and won a Super Bowl with Kelce and the rest of the team. The 28-year-old safety has signed a one-year deal with the Missouri franchise.
Edwards’ previous tenure with the Chiefs
Edwards already participated in the 2023 regular season, the Chiefs safety had played in 17 games (five starts) and contributed 51 tackles. Perhaps his return will be a big part of the defensive toughness Kansas City needs if it wants to win another title.
