The 2022 NFL season was very regular for the Washington Commanders, but not so good for Carson Wentz. The quarterback was injured for half the campaign and now the NFC East team has made a decision about his future.

For everyone's surprise, the NFC East was very competitive this year. The Commanders ended with an 8-8 record, but they were only one win away from stealing a Super Wild Card spot.

As for Carson Wentz, he only played as starter for the team for seven games with a not so remarkable 2-5 record. As the 2023 season approached, now the Commanders have made a decision on what they'll do with him.

Commanders make a decision about Carson Wentz for the 2023 season

The Washington Commanders are now seen as a very competitive squad. They were close to the Super Wild Card round this year, but unfortunately the 2-5 record they had with Carson Wentz didn't help them so much.

Wentz arrived in 2022 as the veteran quarterback the Commanders were looking for, but he didn't live up to the expectations. Also, the injuries had a major impact on his season and he was relegated by Taylor Heinicke.

For those reasons, the Commanders have decided to release Carson Wentz. He will become a free agent and could look for a landing spot for the 2023 campaign, but his health could make the teams not push for him.
