The <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/new-york-giants">New York Giants</a> are searching for talent ahead of next season and, like the Chicago Bears, are exploring a potential trade that could involve veteran linebacker Tremaine Edmunds. Edmunds still has one year remaining on his contract in Chicago, but he is viewed as a viable option, according to a report from Dan Benton of Giants Wire.



“One player who has strong trade value and a decent chance to be dealt is <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/chicago-bears">Bears</a> linebacker Tremaine Edmunds. The Titans, Raiders and Giants are among teams interested in high-end linebackers, and they like Edmunds, who’s only 27 despite eight years in the league. He was granted permission to seek a trade earlier this week,” Benton wrote.



Edmunds has an option to exit his contract before the start of the 2026 season. If he remains with the team, he is due $13.9 million, $1 million less than the previous year, in what would be the final season of the four-year, $72 million deal he signed with the Bears.



<h2>Why would Edmunds be a target for the Giants?</h2>



There is already a connection between Edmunds and the Giants that some may not realize. He was originally drafted by the Buffalo Bills when a former Bills executive, who now works in the Giants’ front office, helped make that selection. He also turned in a strong performance last season.

As for Garoppolo he has a career 43-21 record, and with him as a starter, he went to a Super Bowl with the San Francisco 49ers, as well as an NFC Championship Game.

Garoppolo is more of a pocket passer, quick processor, and steady quarterback. Murray is quite the opposite, he is a mobile, undersized, speedy quarterback with an educated arm. There are two key factors that might really concern the Colts when giving Jones a big contract. First, he is coming off one of the worst injuries known to athletes. Recovering from a torn Achilles is not easy, it’s quite the opposite of that. Hence, there should be more hesitation than just throwing the money at the quarterback.
