The New York Giants had to send Jaxson Dart into the concussion evaluation protocol, a move that surely frightened team fans. However, according to the latest report, the young quarterback is safe for now and is not in danger of missing the regular season.
Adam Schefter released the report on X, to the relief of Giants fans: “Giants QB Jaxson Dart was evaluated for a concussion but the team said he cleared protocol.” It’s now likely that Dart will be able to start the regular season without issue.
The incident occurred when Dart was trying to run with the ball. He didn’t slide and was tackled by the Patriots’ Gibens, who threw him to the ground. He hit his head hard on the fall, and that’s when his coaches decided to send him to the medical tent, where the quarterback was seen saying, “hurry, hurry, hurry,” signaling that he wanted to get back into the game quickly.
A Good Game for Dart
The NFL preseason is now over for Jaxson Dart, who was unable to return to the game after being cleared to play. However, he did throw a touchdown, completing 6 of 12 passes for a total of 81 passing yards with no interceptions.
After all the preseason games he played with the Giants, Dart finished with 372 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 32 of 47 passes completed. This is a solid performance for a player who could be key for the Giants in the upcoming regular season.
When Is the Giants’ First Regular Season Game?
The Giants will have their first regular season game on the road against the Washington Commanders in Week 1, on September 7. Their second game will also be on the road against the Cowboys, and their first home game of the year will be against the Chiefs on September 21.
