NFL News: Jerry Jones might not be happy with Brian Schottenheimer’s latest message about Cowboys and Super Bowl hopes

Brian Schottenheimer isn't feeling the pressure of a long Super Bowl drought in Dallas and that bold stance might not sit well with Jerry Jones. As expectations soar and fans grow restless, the new Cowboys head coach made it clear he's focused on the present, not the past.

Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys haven’t won the Super Bowl in almost three decades, but according to new head coach Brian Schottenheimer, that drought doesn’t represent pressure for him, and he doesn’t see winning the championship as an obligation.

“I don’t get caught up in drought. This is one year. This is the first year of mine. When the season’s over, we move on. We do. You move on. So, 2024 is over. Now, it’s 2025. Are we gonna win the Super Bowl this year? I hope. I think we are. If we don’t, you move on. You got to 2026 and beyond, but, to sit here and say that we worry about when the last time it was, I know that stat, but I don’t stay up at night going: ‘Man, it’s been x amount of years.’ I’m not wired that way because I’m competing every day to try to win a Super Bowl.”

That statement has sparked a lot of controversy on social media, since the Cowboys haven’t even reached the NFC Championship Game in those 30 years. Now, with an offense led by Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and George Pickens, there shouldn’t be any excuses.

When was Dallas Cowboys’ last Super Bowl win?

The last Dallas Cowboys’ Super Bowl win was on January 28, 1996. On that occasion, America’s Team defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers in an exciting game held at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona.

Since that 27-17 victory, the Cowboys haven’t been able to return to the championship game, and that has caused fans to lose patience. In addition, the NFC East seems to be one of the toughest divisions in the NFL, with the Eagles and Commanders heavily in the mix.
