Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills suffered another crushing loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs. Now, after the tough blow, Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott must once again search for the formula to win the first Super Bowl in franchise history.
The initial step was giving Khalil Shakir a four-year, $60.2 million contract extension, securing the long-term future of Allen’s most reliable wide receiver. However, there are still many holes in the supporting cast.
Now, the Bills are reportedly interested in a key veteran who has played for the Green Bay Packers and also for the Pittsburgh Steelers. A move that could provide a much-needed boost to the defense.
Who will the Bills sign in free agency?
The Buffalo Bills are interested in signing Preston Smith, according to a report by Tony Pauline. During the 2024 season, Smith was traded from the Packers to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the linebacker was unable to make the expected impact on Mike Tomlin’s defense.
“Former Steelers edge rusher Preston Smith, who was released as a salary cap casualty just a few weeks ago, is getting a lot of interest here at the combine. Three teams, most prominently the Buffalo Bills, have expressed a desire to sign Smith once free agency begins. If it happens, it would be a great coupling, as Buffalo needs depth at pass rusher, and Smith wants to finish his career with a playoff team.”
