The Cleveland Browns have made headlines across the NFL due to the unusually high number of quarterbacks they’ve brought in to prepare for the upcoming season. Unfortunately for Kevin Stefanski, and despite Shedeur Sanders‘ return to practice, another setback was confirmed earlier today.

According to the latest updates, former Oregon Ducks quarterback Dillon Gabriel is expected to see limited action today due to tightness in his hamstring.

The news was confirmed by NFL insider Adam Schefter, who announced the unexpected development via his official account on X (formerly Twitter). It comes as a setback for Kevin Stefanski and the rest of the roster as they continue preparations for the upcoming season.

Injuries continue to plague the QB room

A wave of injuries has impacted the quarterback competition for the Cleveland Browns. The first to be sidelined was Kenny Pickett, who suffered a hamstring injury that has limited him in practice. Subsequently, rookie Dillon Gabriel also experienced a similar hamstring issue, relegating him to a limited participation status.

Meanwhile, former Buffaloes standout was also dealing with his own health issues, but unlike his teammates, he has made a quick recovery. Fortunately, with Shedeur Sanders back on track, he’s expected to return to full participation in practice, allowing him to continue competing for a spot on the roster for the upcoming season.

In this way, and to the surprise of many, veteran Joe Flacco appears to be gaining a slight edge over his fellow quarterbacks. Despite his age, he remains a steady presence and could emerge as the Week 1 starter.
