Shedeur Sanders responded to his critics after the Browns’ 30-10 victory over the Falcons in the preseason opener. The quarterback addressed recent comments from several analysts suggesting that Cleveland’s coaching staff was putting him in a position to fail due to the limited reps he had received in training camp.
“I think overall in life, I don’t want anybody to make excuses. It’s two ways you can look at it. You can look at it and be thankful and take full advantage of the opportunity, or you can look at it like, dang, this is what I’ve been asking for and I’m not prepared. So, I’ll say I’ve been able to sleep good at night knowing I was playing. I just prepared as normal.”
Now, Sanders has turned around the quarterback competition with the Browns, and it is unclear who holds the edge between him, Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and Dillon Gabriel. A major dilemma for Kevin Stefanski.
Who will be Browns’ starting quarterback?
Joe Flacco would be the Browns’ starting quarterback, given that he is the most experienced player on the roster ahead of Shedeur Sanders, Kenny Pickett, and Dillon Gabriel.
Moreover, it is important to note that Pickett and Gabriel are injured, which could open the door for Sanders to take on the backup quarterback role heading into the start of the regular season.

“When you’re out there on the field, it’s different. Ball is ball. Ball has never been a problem for me. Whatever optics or whatever everybody makes up after outside the game. But, in the game, you all kind of know who I am.”
