Due to Rondale Moore’s injury and Jordan Addison’s three-game suspension, the Minnesota Vikings are reportedly considering a surprising trade to help JJ McCarthy. This was confirmed in a report by Tom Pelissero.
“With Jordan Addison suspended and multiple injuries, the Vikings are seriously exploring veteran receivers in the trade market, per sources. All-Pro Justin Jefferson (hamstring) is on track for Week 1. His early-season running mate may not be on the roster. No trade is imminent. But Minnesota is actively looking, with six days to cutdown.”
The wide receiver position has been the biggest headache for head coach Kevin O’Connell during the preseason. While Justin Jefferson appears to be on track for recovery, the rest of the roster spots remain a mystery. The Vikings are in one of the toughest divisions in the NFL, the NFC North, alongside the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions, and the Bears.
Who is WR 2 for the Vikings?
Jordan Addison is the WR2 for the Minnesota Vikings but is suspended for the first three games of the season. The star will miss matchups against the Chicago Bears, the Atlanta Falcons, and the Cincinnati Bengals.
His return is scheduled for Week 4, when the Vikings face Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers in Dublin on September 28. However, a slow 0-3 start could jeopardize the season’s outlook for Kevin O’Connell.

At the moment, the options on Minnesota’s roster don’t appear to be of true WR2 caliber: Jalen Nailor, Tai Felton, Myles Price, Lucky Jackson, Jeshaun Jones, or Thayer Thomas. That could lead the Vikings to test the market in search of a trade.
