There’s absolutely no denying that Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomesare leading the new era of NFL quarterbacks. They’re walking highlights, a couple of young gunners that can always make something incredible happen.
One has already dominated the league at will, becoming the highest-paid player in NFL history and a Super Bowl champion. The other is yet to prove his worth in the playoffs but took the league by storm last year as a clear front-runner for the MVP award.
Needless to say, considering their youth and durability, it’s likely that the Mahomes vs Jackson is going to become the new Peyton Manning vs Tom Brady and that they’ll go toe-to-toe for MVPs and rings for at least a decade.
Thus far, however, Mahomes has often gotten the last laugh over the former Heisman winner, as he’s beaten them the two times they’ve face off. That’s why Patrick believes that playing Lamar for the third time will be like the third time he played vs. Tom Brady.

“I had a very similar situation playing Tom Brady. I won all those games my first two years, but I lost to Tom twice. So I understand he’s going to be driven. Whenever you play a team that is of his caliber and our team coming off a Super Bowl win, you know it’s going to be a great game,” Mahomes told ESPN.
Lamar Jackson has stated over and over that he’s determined to silence his critics and prove his doubters wrong, and there wouldn’t be a better stage to do that than in their Monday Night Football clash vs. Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
