Philadelphia Eagles' asking price for Carson Wentz is just crazy

The Philadelphia Eagles and Carson Wentz are expected to part ways rather sooner than later. Nonetheless, the team's asking price for the quarterback seems way too steep right now.

It’s not a secret that Carson Wentz is coming off one of the most disappointing seasons that could come to mind in recent times. He went from being a legit MVP candidate to falling off a cliff, overplaying, forcing things, making avoidable mistakes, and looking pretty much uncoachable for most of the NFLseason. Then again, in all fairness, he was also getting hit at a historical rate and the Philadelphia Eagles looked unable – and unwilling – to protect him.

So, now that he was benched in favor of rookie Jalen Hurts and that he excelled during his first couple of starts, it seems like there’s no more room for Wentz in the City of Brotherly Love, and that it would be for their best interest to just part ways right now.

That’s why Wentz is one of the prime candidates to be moved in the next couple of days, given how many quarterback-needy teams – like the Colts or Bears – will try to land a new gunslinger. However, it seems like there hasn’t been much interest in his services as of now.

Teams Are Hanging Up The Phone On Philadelphia Eagles Over Carson Wentz Deal

According to Greg Bedard of the Boston Globe, the Philadelphia Eagles are actually asking for a couple of first-round picks in return for Carson Wentz, which has led to several teams – even those who were interested in him- to hand the phone onthem:

“Eagles are asking for two 1s for Carson Wentz, which has led to some dial tones, including from one team previously perceived to be a favored landing spot, Bedard reported on Twitter.

There’s just no way Wentz lost all of his talent all of a sudden. Perhaps, he just needs a change of scenery – and a solid offensive line – to work his way back to the top. But they’re just not going to get that much in return for him after such a disastrous season, especially if everybody around the league knows for a fact that they intend to trade him.
