Davante Adams was one of the most sought-after figures in this free agency, and it was the Los Angeles Rams who ultimately secured his services for the upcoming NFL season. Les Snead didn’t hesitate to fulfill his head coach’s wish of having the former Packers and Jets star join Matthew Stafford as an offensive weapon.
In a recent conversation with the press at the owner’s meeting, the Rams’ General Manager spoke about the arrival of the former Green Bay Packers wide receiver to his team, expressing confidence that he will form a lethal duo with Matthew Stafford.
“It was probably the week of the Super Bowl. Sean [McVay] was at the Super Bowl,” Snead started. “I was rejuvenating in Hawaii, I like to call it. Because I am a competitor, I hate going to the Super Bowl when you’re not in it, and most years you’re not in it.”
“That was the first time where, oh maybe the [New York] Jets are gonna move on from Davante,” Snead continued. “So I know Sean and I talked during that week. Especially if we continue partnering with Matthew [Stafford], that’d be a nice piece of the puzzle to add.”

McVay and Stafford’s excitement about adding Adams
Davante Adams’ arrival to the Rams was met with great enthusiasm within the franchise, especially by Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford, two of the team’s key leaders.

“I think he was really, really jacked,” Snead said. “Sean likes to sit with his players, walk through, ‘OK, if we bring Davante on, this is what I’m thinking. What do you think?’ You start thinking about chemistry of the room, and if you put all the pieces together and help them work together, collaborate, and let Sean deploy the pieces on the chess table. And Matthew and that group has to go execute.”
From now on, the Rams‘ main goal will undoubtedly be to reach the Super Bowl once again, just like the time they clinched the title in their own city, defeating Joe Burrow’s Bengals.
