Aaron Rodgers has become one of the top targets for the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, with uncertainty still looming over his potential arrival, Mike Tomlin may have shifted his focus toward another veteran quarterback in the NFL.

There was plenty of buzz in recent days about the Steelers’ interest in adding Kirk Cousins, but that pursuit ultimately fell through, with the quarterback may staying in Atlanta. As a result, Pittsburgh’s attention has reportedly switching to a familiar AFC North rival — the Cleveland Browns.

According to recent comments from Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox, a potential trade target for Pittsburgh could be veteran quarterback Joe Flacco — who, interestingly enough, joined once again the Cleveland Browns earlier this offseason.

“The Pittsburgh Steelers may also have interest in a veteran like Flacco if Aaron Rodgers doesn’t sign with them,” Knox wrote. “The 41-year-old has yet to decide whether he’ll play in 2025, but Pittsburgh does have interest in adding him. … The Browns might ask for a premium if they were to trade a quarterback to a division rival, though.”

The Aaron Rodgers saga with the Pittsburgh Steelers has gone through dozens of twists and turns, with many believing he was far from joining Mike Tomlin’s squad next season. However, against all odds and widespread expectations, the veteran quarterback now appears to have an anticipated signing date with the franchise.

If the arrival of the former Packers player ultimately falls through, Tomlin and his staff already have their sights set on potential replacements — with current Cleveland Browns quarterback Joe Flacco among the names previously mentioned.
