Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady are set to clash this Sunday for the right to win the Super Bowl LV in Tampa, Florida. The most important game of the season will be played by two of the most talented quarterbacks the NFL has seen and fans can’t wait to watch a total showdown.

When you have a great matchup like this, comparisons always happen and even more when both field generals have been touted as the current and future GOAT of the game, which is why this match has so much attention on it.

Pat and Tom are two generational quarterbacks and a lot of people believe that the former has a big chance to overcome the latter as the greatest to ever do it. This game will show us who is the best quarterback in the league but the Kansas City Chiefs star isn’t too interested in that.

Patrick Mahomes plays down comparisons with Tom Brady

Being one of the best players in the league right now and the man with the highest contract in NFL history, the young quarterback will always draw comparisons with old players, and Brady isn’t the exception.

However, the 25-year-old is not entertaining any of those comments, explaining that he’s just starting his career and until he doesn’t retire, we won’t actually see how great he was in comparison to his Sunday’s rival.

“I think that’s more of a long-term thing than a short-term thing,” Mahomes said via Pro Football Talk. “You have to focus on, for me, trying to find a way to repeat, find a way to win a second championship and find a way to do whatever I can to win with this team.”

He did admit that going against a heck of a player like TB12 is a big honor and he will enjoy the experience as much as he can. The 2018 NFL MVP will have the chance to prove himself against the most honored quarterback ever and that only motivates him.

“You don’t get these opportunities every year in the NFL to be in the Super Bowl and to be in these games, so you don’t want to look back and have regrets on how you played or how you went about the week before preparing to go out there to play your best football. When the end of your career is done, then you can kind of look and see where those moments were in your career where you could’ve had something or that you executed and you did go out there and achieve your dreams.”

The game is closer every day and Pat can’t wait to face somebody he grew up watching. Brady is the standard for any successful quarterback in the league and the young man is well aware of that. He will try to defend his title but the Buccaneers will try to ruin their plans at home.
